Bonjour!
Hi! My name is Libby Mahoney, welcome to my online Master's portfolio! This is the landing spot for the units and work that I will create throughout my graduate school courses at Concordia College. I chose to use Weebly for my online portfolio due to its user friendly interface and clear aesthetic. Throughout the school year I will be posting various tech modules that I will be creating for each of my classes. I am a high school French teacher in New Orleans. I currently teach levels 2 & 3.
I am from St. Paul, Minnesota, and attended Tulane University in New Orleans. I graduated with a bachelors degree with majors in French and History and a minor in Political Science. I began studying French when I was in middle school and spent four summers at Concordia Language Villages' French Village, Lac du Bois, where I was immersed in the French language and Francophone culture. During my time at Tulane I was able to study abroad at the American University Center of Provence (AUCP) in Marseille, France. The AUCP is an intense French language immersion program focusing on the study of inter-cultural and inter-religious communication along with Arabic. I am currently pursuing a Master's in Education and cannot wait to use what I have learned in my classroom.
I have been lucky enough to travel all over the world and am very passionate about travel being an important aspect of language learning. I get to travel with my students every year and seeing them use their French and understanding the world around them is always one of the most exciting parts of our trips. At my school I also am the Student Life Director and help to plan activities and events throughout the school year. In addition to traveling I also love to read, cook, and explore New Orleans.
